Volkswagen has announced it will unveil the facelifted 2015 Touareg at the Beijing Motor Show that will open its doors to the press on Saturday.
Up front, the Touareg gains standard bi-xenon headlights, a reshaped bumper with noticeably wider air dams and an updated radiator grille with four chromed slats. The modifications carried out to the rear end are minor and largely limited to a new bumper with integrated LED fog lights.
The usual assortment of new alloy wheel designs and paint colors round out the exterior updates.
The most noteworthy news on the inside is the availability of extra high-tech convenience and safety features such as an automatic post-collision braking system that now comes standard regardless of trim level. Models equipped with an eight-speed gearbox come with a fuel-saving coasting function, and all Touaregs regardless of what lies under the hood are equipped with low rolling resistance tires.
Other interior modifications include new lighting, new trim pieces and additional upholstery colors.
The European-spec facelifted Touareg is scheduled to land in German showrooms this August. Pricing information and market-specific specifications will be published closer to the SUV’s on-sale date.
