Tesla has launched a new Track Bundle for the Model S Plaid that unlocks the electric sedan’s top speed of 322 kilometre per hour while also incorporating appealing additions to enhance the American EV’s performance on the racetrack.

Originally hinted at in a brief Twitter video and subsequently made available on the official online accessories store, the Model S Plaid Track Bundle comprises cast aluminum wheels, race-ready tires, brake oil, updated carbon-silicon carbide rotors, and one-piece cast calipers with best-performance pads.

The entire bundle, scheduled to launch in June 2023, bears a price ranging from $15,000 to $20,000, depending on the owner’s selection from the list of parts. According to Tesla’s website, the comprehensive set encompasses the following features:

Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit:

  • 2x 410 x 40mm carbon-silicon carbide front rotors;

  • 2x 410 x 32mm carbon-silicon carbide rear rotors;

  • 2x 6-piston one-piece forged front calipers with high-performance brake pads;

  • 2x 4-piston one-piece, forged rear calipers with high-performance brake pads;

  • 2x integrated, caliper-mounted parking brakes;

  • Track-ready brake fluid;

  • Updated FW tuned for peak performance.

Wheel/Tire Components:

  • 2x 20X10J, Zero-G wheels with 285/35R20 Goodyear Supercar 3R tires (front);

  • 2x 20X11J, Zero-G wheels with 305/30R20 Goodyear Supercar 3R tires (rear);

  • TPMS, Zero-G center caps, tire nut valves, and lug nut covers.

The Carbon Ceramic Brake set, accompanied by the new brake oil, is priced at $15,000. With the inclusion of wheels and tires in the package, the cost increases to $20,000. Alternatively, the Zero-G wheels with Goodyear tires can be individually bought for $6,000, offering a potential saving of $1,000 by opting for the complete package instead of acquiring the parts separately.

In November 2021, Tesla initially unveiled the upgraded brake kit as a $20,000 additional option for the Model S Plaid. With this recent update, however, the cost has dropped by $5,000. Tesla clarifies that the ceramic brakes are incompatible with the 19-inch Tempest rims but can be employed with the 20-inch Zero-G and 21-inch Arachnid wheels.

Furthermore, the American EV manufacturer presents a $5,500 hardware track bundle for the Model 3 Performance, which encompasses 20-inch Zero-G rims enveloped by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, top-notch brakes, and Bluetooth low-energy tire pressure detectors.

The package’s availability and prices for the UAE are not yet confirmed.
