Geely was initially founded in 1986 but did not venture into the automotive sector until 1997. Recently, the corporation has developed into one of the major players in the plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle sectors. Currently, it possesses various brands, comprising Volvo, Lotus, Smart, and Zeekr, which is an autonomous department that produces premium electric cars. Its most recent release is the X crossover, which made its debut less than a month ago in China.
Thanks to our buddies at Wheelsboy, we have an early evaluation of the model, which is planned to make its first appearance in Europe towards the end of this year. The video connected at the top of this page is coupled with an exceptional photograph gallery for the Motor1.com readership, embedded at the end of the post.
Firstly, the Zeekr X is a condensed crossover with a slightly contentious styling that shares various of its constituents with other Geely products. Based on the corporation’s Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA), the electric car has powertrain and battery components that can be discovered in the Smart #1 as well. Nevertheless, it has its unique design language, and some customers in the Old Continent may find it excessively avant-garde.

However, the interior design is captivating from every perspective, particularly seeing the car’s sticker price – the Zeekr X commences at only $27,600 (189,800 yuan) in the base RWD version, while the alternative dual-motor AWD variant starts at $30,500 (209,800 yuan). It is relatively noteworthy for a vehicle that includes a standard 13-speaker Yamaha sound system, electrically actuated front doors, and a modifiable central console.
The elective characteristics incorporate a detachable refrigerator at the rear and a minor display on the B-pillar that discloses information regarding the car’s status. While the car is stationary, the driver can select from several diverse modes, including a pet option that maintains the vehicle at the desired temperature if their pet is in the car.
Zeekr is planning to commence selling the new electric crossover in China in June. However, media test drives are currently offered in the republic. The company intends to release the vehicle in selected European markets in the future and has pledged to keep the electric car at a reasonably priced level in Europe.
