Kia has confirmed that its Detroit-bound 2+2 sports car concept will be called the Kia GT4 Stinger.

In addition to revealing the concept’s name, the Korean automaker has also revealed some technical details about the GT4 Stinger. The California-designed sports car will feature Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’, along with a carbon fiber front splitter to provide added downforce. The concept will also sport LED headlights, 20-inch wheels and brake cooling vents.

The Kia says the rear-wheel drive Kia GT4 Stinger is powered by a 315 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged engine. Kia promises that the sports car will return “superb driving enjoyment on both road and track.”

It remains unknown if the GT4 Stinger will actually make production, but Kia is aiming the sports car clearly at the likes of the Mazda MX-5 Miata and Scion FR-S.
