The Large Product Group from Mazda has introduced its first vehicle, the 2023 CX-60 for Japan and other markets. The company recently released a teaser image and a video showing the LED daytime running lights with a horizontal line stretching towards the front grille. We can also see the air vents with a standing direction.
For Europe, the Japanese automaker decides to offer the new CX-60 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It consists of a four-cylinder 2.5-litre gasoline engine and an electric motor to create 300 horsepower combined. Interestingly, it will be Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid that comes before a three-row CX-80.
Both the CX-60 and CX-80 will be accessible in Europe in the next two years. The U.S. customer will have the CX-70 and a three-row CX-90, which would be a little broader than the CX-80. The SUVs will not only be able to feature PHEV powertrains but also a host of straight-six petrol and diesel mills with mild-hybrid configurations.
The automaker didn’t reveal if they will offer more powerful engines for Europe but did sanction them for the U.S. We are expecting the new SUVs to use the Mazda’s newly built rear-wheel-drive platform.
