The new 2022 Ford Maverick is doing well in the market, surpassing its potentials. The best in terms of fuel economy is the Maverick hybrid that delivers the EPA rating of 42 mpg within the city and 37 mpg combined.

With a fuel tank of 13.8-gallon (62.7-litre), the hybrid model is capable of delivering 500 miles (805 kilometres) once fully topped up. However, the real-world testing shows it exceeds expectations by a good number. At least for a Maverick owner who claimed to hit more than 600 miles range.

Posted on  Maverick Truck Club forum, a user Mavforever claimed to hit 595.2 miles with 24 miles remaining before the petrol runs out. With more than 269 miles of electric range, it comes out to 44.1 mpg rating, which can take the truck over 600 miles mark. Interestingly, other members at the forum seconded that claim as well with their trucks.

While the driver didn’t reveal his driving behaviour, road conditions and the route he adopted, these numbers are very impressive and better than what Ford claimed.

Bear in mind that this rating is for the front-wheel-drive Maverick Hybrid. Of course, for the all-wheel-drive Maverick Ecoboost, it will be lower. The EPA rating of the AWD stands at 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
