The luxury brand of Hyundai has introduced its second electric model, the Genesis GV60 crossover featuring new Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which also underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
While some of the important details regarding its battery and range are not out yet, seeing the photos we can tell you about its exterior and interior design. From the outside, it appears to have a fastback style with a long clamshell hood. The prominent features include a signature quad light on the front, identical taillights at the back, and a shield-shaped grille located low on the bumper to highlight aggression.
The interior looks much like Genesis boasting a “Crystal Sphere” shift knob, a matching silvery infotainment knob, and blue leather interior hints taken from vehicles like the G80 and GV80. First from Genesis is the digital side mirrors that take feed from the exterior-mounted cameras to show it to the two displays fixed at the base of the A-pillar.
Regarding powertrain, our good guess about the Genesis GV60 is the battery range from 58.0 to 77.4-kilowatt-hours. With these, we can expect more than 300 miles (483 kilometers) of range on WLTP cycle. The horsepower figure could be as high as 577 horsepower considering the EV6 GT.
“The GV60, Genesis’ first on a dedicated electric platform, will provide a totally new experience as a luxury electric vehicle based on our unique brand identity and will also benefit from our unique customer-focused offering where service comes before sales,” stated Dominique Boesch, managing director for Genesis Motor Europe.
Expect to know more about the Genesis GV60 in the coming days. The deliveries may start any time in 2022.
