Bugatti’s Veyron is now in the home stretch of its production run following the 400th delivery of the hypercar. Bugatti plans to cap Veyron production at just 450 units.

Bugatti recently delivered its 400th Veyron to a customer in the Middle East, leaving just 50 units of the car available for order. Car number 400 was a Grand Sport Vitesse “Jean-Pierre Wimille” from the French automaker’s limited edition “Les Légendes de Bugatti” series. Based on the 1,200 horsepower Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, the “Jean-Pierre Wimille” model carries a price tag of €2.13 million ($2.92 million).

Thanks to its 8.0L 16-cylinder engine, they Veyron “Jean-Pierre Wimille” can accelerate from 0 – 100 km in 2.6 seconds. The convertible super car can also hit a top speed of 408 kmph with its roof off.

“With the Veyron, Bugatti has established itself as the most exclusive and most luxurious super sports car brand in the world,” Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti, said. “The Veyron is a unique success story and sets a high standard for the future of Bugatti.

Bugatti has already closed production on Veyron coupe models, which were limited to 300 units. The automaker has built 100 convertible models, with 50 more to go.

The Bugatti Veyron was introduced in 2005.
