Ford is adding yet another all-electric model in its lineup and this time it is for the best-selling three-row SUV in America. Yes, you guessed it right; the Electric Explorer will soon join Ford’s electric family consisting of Mustang Mach-E, E-Transit, and F-150 Lightning.
Ford also told us that they are developing new rear- and all-wheel-drive flexible electric-vehicle platforms. These will spawn pickup trucks, cargo vehicles, and rugged SUVs. The latter of which could be an all-electric Bronco SUV. Ford already announced to reveal Bronco Hybrid.

We do not have many options in the mid-size three-row electric SUVs, though Tesla offers limited third-row seating choice in the Model X and Model Y.
Talking about the design of Electric Explorer, the automaker didn’t give any details yet. However, just as the new F-150 Lightning looking pretty much like its gasoline-powered sibling, the Explorer electric might adopt a similar approach. Ford might also carry forward the Explorer’s interior facilities to the electric model.
Regarding price, again we don’t know anything. However, seeing the F-150 Lightning’s base price closely matching with the gasoline-powered model, we can assume the same from the Electric Explorer. The 2020 Explorer starts at $33,920.
More details will emerge later on.
