Kia earlier this year ditched the Cadenza and K900 for the U.S. market. However, the smaller model continued in the international markets as the new K8. The flagship sedan now gets a mid-cycle update with quite substantial changes. Named the 2022 Kia K9 in its home market, the luxury sedan has been revealed in two official images boasting updated headlights, a bigger front grille, a cleaner bumper look, and a full-width LED light bar at the rear.

Other changes include new 19-inch alloy wheels and the revised company logo. The 4X emblem at the back is there to tell it is the all-wheel-drive model.

The interior also expected to come with a host of updates. The 2022 Kia K9 / K900 came just three years ago and is getting significant updates to keep it fresh and compete with its German rivals. Kia will provide full details of the K9 in the coming weeks.

It is good to see that Kia is investing in the slowly contracting sedan segment. True that the crossover and SUVs are selling better than the sedans but the latter aren’t going to fade for sure as long as automakers like Kia keep them lively. The new Kia K9 comes after Hyundai revealed the updated Grandeur sedan in South Korea.
