The Genesis G80 has just received an electric variant. Named Electrified G80, it is the first zero-emission model from the luxury brand with similarities to its gas-powered sibling.
The company didn’t reveal all the details about the drivetrain but said it would come with a standard all-wheel-drive setup with one motor at the front and one at the rear axle. The combined power output will be 365 horsepower (272 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque.
The automaker declares up to 310 miles of range on NEDC or 265 miles on the Korean standard. While the company didn’t reveal battery capacities, charging at 350 kW from 10% to 80% will take only 22 minutes. The estimated 0 to 60 mph time of 4.9 seconds makes the Electrified G80 quicker than the ICE G80.
The interior would carry all the good luxury features of the gas-powered model. However, details are scarce at the moment.
To know more about the Electrified G80, you have to wait. The luxury sedan should arrive at dealerships before the end of this year or at the start of next year, fetching a price higher than the ICE model, which costs at least $48,745.
