Lamborghini has officially closed production of its Gallardo supercar in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini will soon replace the Gallardo with an all-new supercar called the Cabrera.

First unveiled at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, the Gallardo would go on to become the most successful Lamborghini ever built. In fact, with 14,022 units produced over its 10-year production span, the Gallardo represents nearly half of the 30,000 vehicles Lamborghini has delivered since the company was founded in 1963.

Following the Gallardo coupe’s 2003 unveiling, Lamborghini expanded the range in 2005 with the Gallardo Spyder. Both the coupe and Spyder were updated for the 2008 model year.

Although offered in two basic body styles, Lamborghini has produced 32 Gallardo variants over the years, including the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera and the enthusiast-minded LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni limited edition.

The last Gallardo to roll down the line was a LP 570-4 Spyder Performante finished in Rosso Mars.
