GMC is all set today to introduce the SUV model of the Hummer electric pickup truck, unveiled last October. Although not official, we expect the GMC Hummer EV SUV to feature most of the good aspects of its big brother.

From the SUV teasers, we can say the design is pretty much the same as the truck from the front. However, the rear will obviously be different since it will have an enclosed cabin and ample cargo space with a spare wheel fixed at the tailgate. We expect almost the same interior as we find in the Hummer pickup truck. So, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as a big 13.4-inch touchscreen for the infotainment display, are on the cards.

We know the Hummer EV pickup will come equipped with the Enhanced Super Cruise, CrabWalk Mode, a Watts to Freedom launch mode, and an Extract Mode. The latter feature helps the truck to lift itself about six inches. We can reason to have all these in the GMC Hummer EV SUV as well.

The SUV will also employ Ultium batteries with an expected minimum drive range of 250 miles. The biggest battery pack should deliver more than 300 miles. GMC will likely offer the SUV with two and three motor setup.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup will go on sale this fall. We believe the zero-emission SUV might come at a later date.
