Undoubtedly, Americans went crazy about the new Ford Bronco when it was unveiled last year. However, demand for 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition VIN 001 went over the roof at a Barrett-Jackson auction event on March 27. This specific model was sold for $1.1 million with the proceeds going to the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound, two institutions backed by the Bronco Wild Fund mission.

The automaker plans to create 7,000 units of the First Edition this year. This particular Ford Bronco First Edition VIN 001 features an exclusive Lightning Blue exterior and a Dark Space Gray and Navy Pier interior.

The utility vehicle carries a 2.7-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine yielding 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The mill mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed Advanced 4×4 system.

Other vehicles from Ford auctioned at Barret-Jackson Scottsdale include Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake CSX 3015 sold for an eye-watering $5.5 million, and a Mustang Mach 1 VIN 001, sold for $500,000.
