The 2022 Genesis GV70 will be on sale in America and Gulf countries sometime this year. Similar to the GV80 SUV built on the GV80 sedan, the GV70 SUV is established on the GV70 sedan. Both the bigger GV80 SUV and the smaller GV70 SUV gives buyers two engine options i.e. a standard 300-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 generating 375 hp. According to the EPA, the GV70 sips less fuel than the GV80 when equipped with the V6.

The EPA has rated the GV70 Sport model boasting the twin-turbocharged V-6 and all-wheel drive at 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway (21 mpg combined). It is 1 mpg more in the city and 2 more on the highway than its big brother does.

EPA still didn’t reveal the estimates for the standard turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four, but we believe it will be more efficient compared to the GV80’s inline-four offering 23-mpg (22 mpg with all-wheel drive). All the mills mate to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Comparing the 2022 Genesis GV70 with the 2021 GV80 with all-wheel drive and the V-6, the latter is less fuel-efficient as well.
