2022 Mercedes EQA based on the GLA-Class is here featuring fresh design and zero-emission drive. The EQ family will further grow in the coming years.

The European-bound compact EV crossover comes equipped with a front-mounted asynchronous motor generating 187 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The torque is accessible from the start and it is a little extra compared to the GLA250. However, the gasoline-powered GLA produces more power at 221 hp.

For this reason, the GLA250 is quicker to accelerate to 60 mph from zero. The EQA250 takes around two seconds more and can achieve a top speed of 149 mph.

For the U.S. markets, the 2022 Mercedes EQA is still not confirmed. If the company decides to bring it in America, it will come with a more robust drivetrain. It could be an all-wheel-drive offering 280 horsepower.

Amazingly, a 66.5-kWh battery pack installed in the EQA250 delivers 300 miles of range in the European cycle. This cycle does prefer electric models. Even then, we believe the range will hover between 200 to 250 miles.

Inside, the 2022 Mercedes EQA will feature an innovative user interface, premium materials, and advanced tech.

Mercedes will use its plants in Germany and China to develop this electric crossover. In Europe, it will wear a pricier tag than the GLA250 but will receive government incentives.
