Once of the best-selling crossovers in America, the Jeep Grand Cherokee gets bigger with an extended platform. Introducing the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L featuring three rows, exceptional looks, extra tech and so much more.

Exterior

Seeing the pictures, we can clearly see the front end taking inspiration from the Grand Wagoneer. The prominent features include sloped hood, seven-slate grille, and thin LED headlights. The side profile is intense and distinct, and boasts 21-inch wheels. The rear is sleeker with slim LED taillights that stretch from the center trunklid.

The extended platform has paved way for a bigger wheelbase that covers 121.7 inches, making it 204.9 inches long. Comparatively, the two-row Grand Cherokee has a wheelbase of 114.8 inches and a full length of 189.8 inches.

Interior & Tech

Step inside the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L and you will find completely new center cluster and digital cluster styles, a multifunction steering wheel, good-looking leather textures, and first-rate trim bits such as wood and metal.

The Summit Reserve trim is new for this year and is the range-topper, as well. It features all the premium features you would expect including the quality hand-wrapped Palermo leather on the seats and genuine open-pore waxed walnut wood on the dash. Moreover, its front bucket seats are 16-way power-adjustable, heated and ventilated, and presents a massage function with five customizable profiles.

Obviously, the extended platform has to offer more cargo space. We are talking about 17.1 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 46.9 cubes behind the second row. Fold both the rows flat and you get 84.6 cubic feet of total cargo room.

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L also ups the ante in the tech department. A 8.4-inches touchscreen is standard with a cheerful 10.1 inches optional display featuring the new UConnect 5 infotainment system. The wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in addition to a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster are also part of the deal.

Performance

In the power department, Jeep couldn’t offer any update. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L has the old 3.6-liter V6 yielding 290 horsepower and 257 pound-feet. The available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 also comes from the last year generating 357 hp and 390 lb-ft. Both the mills mate to an eight-speed automatic transmission powering either two- or four wheels.

The list of optional systems is huge; it includes Active Driving Assistant and Hands-Free Active Driving Assistant suites.

Pricing & Availability

The automaker didn’t announce the pricing plan for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L yet. Regarding availability, we do hope to see the grand utility vehicle at the dealerships by the mid-2021. For reference, the current two-row Grand Cherokee starts at AED 160,000. So, we expect the price of the extended model a little higher than that.
