The McLaren Sabre made a surprise debut through the company’s Beverly Hills dealership recently. The automaker will create only 15 units of the hypercar, all exclusively built according to the desires of its customers.
While experts were speculating the Sabre will feature a hybrid powertrain generating more than 1,000 horsepower, it was all but true. In reality, the McLaren Sabre boasts a twin-turbocharged V8 that we believe could be a 4.0-liter engine. The PR doesn’t state the displacement, however, it does tell it can pump out 824 hp (606 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-meters) of torque.
This power output makes this V8 the most powerful from McLaren enabling the Sabre to hit 218 mph top speed. Before I forget, this speed makes this two-seat hypercar the fastest in the lot. Do not get us wrong, the Speedtail and F1 are three-seaters.
What we have heard so far, the MSO group has made it only for the US market keeping in view the standards in the country. The first customer car goes to McLaren Beverly Hills for an undisclosed price.
While the price is a mystery, we also do not know whether all are accounted for or not. Nevertheless, one thing is sure, it will be very expensive and super rare to spot in the public.
