It is good to know people are still in love with high-speed machines. Just after the highly anticipated Venom F5, we are seeing another hypercar from a new startup Elation HyperCars, working in Northern California. The first of its offering is Elation Freedom that is coming to compete against the likes of Lotus Evija, Rimac C_Two, and the Pininfarina Battista.

The Elation Freedom is available in two flavors: a combustion engine variant and a zero-emission all-electric model.

While the company showed us official renderings a month ago, they are now progressing toward making a working prototype by the name Dogo 001.

It might take two years to see the production car with the prototype planned to make an appearance in the next Geneva Motor Show. The automaker will create only 25 units and each will need over 4,000 hours to finish.

As for the specs, the base Elation Freedom EV will feature three-motors that will work together to generate 1,427 horsepower and 1,440 Newton-meters (1,062 pound-feet) of torque.

A more hardcore variant will have four electric motors to create a massive 1,903 hp enabling it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in an astonishing 1.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 260 mph (418 km/h).

Both the all-wheel-drive models will mate to a bespoke two-speed gearbox taking power from a big standard 100-kWh battery. The optional 120-kWh battery pack can offer about 400 miles (644 kilometers) on a single charge.

Those who love revving the combustion engines can opt for a 5.2L V10 in place of electric motors. The engine pumps out 750 horsepower that enables it to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 240 mph (386 km/h).

Strangely, the V10 variant starts at an enormous $2.3 million while the EV model costs $2 million.

While the specs look pretty amazing on the paper with a plan to compete against the likes of Pagani and Koenigsegg, we have seen many startups failing in their endeavors to dethrone the big guns. Only time will tell how Elation Freedom fares against its rivals.
