The 15th-generation Toyota Crown hit the Japanese roads a few years ago, and for 2021 MY, the sedan got some extensive updates including a big 12.3-inch wide touchscreen display.
The luxury sedan’s new touchscreen replaced the split-screen configuration, which is a modest-sized infotainment screen. Moreover, the climate control system display is now shorter with physical knobs on the sides. The 12.3-inch display also supports the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
While there is a range of changes inside, we cannot say the same for the exterior. In addition, it still gives buyers one non-hybrid and two hybrid engine choices. The petrol mill is a 2.0L turbo creating 245 horsepower (180 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque.
The hybrid versions are available in two flavors. A 2.5L gasoline yielding 226 hp (166 kW), and a 3.5L generating 359 hp (264 kW). Both the combustion engines get assistance from an electric motor that feeds itself through a nickel-metal hydride or lithium-ion battery.
The 2021 Toyota Crown costs 4,899,000 yen in Japan ($47,000 at the present exchange rates).
