Mercedes-Benz India have launched a special edition variant on the C Class. Called the Mercedes-Benz C Class Edition C, this variant celebrates the 10 millionth sale of the C Class globally since its launch in 1993.
The C-Class befits the standards of Mercedes-Benz and promises to bring a couple of extras over the regular goodness of the C-Class. The special edition variant will be available only in the C220 CDI model and gets an AMG kit with, bumper spoilers and larger AMG wheels. As reported, the C-Class Celebration Edition will only bear few cosmetic changes; however, the engine specifications would be the same. While the changes on exteriors may include a new front grille besides a new set of alloy wheels, the interiors too get some modifications. The C-Class Celebration Edition will come with features like push start/stop button and a wooden trim finish.
Inside, the Edition C gets a new navigation system which is fully integrated into the infotainment system. Other features include sports seats, an electric sunroof, contrast stitching for the interiors and the steering wheel, ambient lighting and 1/3:2/3 split folding rear seats.
The company’s plan to introduce a Celebration Edition of the the C-Class model of Mercedes-Benz in India catapulted from the fact that the C-Class has been faring quite well in the Indian car market lately. As told by the company, out of all the 10 million units sold, the current-generation C-Class has accounted for 2.3 million units worldwide. Going by that, the launch of the same in India is going to shoot up sales figures of this model of Mercedes-Benz, further. In the year 2012, Mercedes-Benz launched around eight new cars, while the models that made appearance in 2013 include the likes of GL-Class SUV, A-Class, B-Class , E-Class and the E63 AMG.
Only 500 units of the Edition C will be made.
