Delage Automobiles, a French luxury and sports automaker that stopped production in 1953, is restarting its operations under the command of its president Laurent Tapie. Their first offering is the electrified Delage D12 hypercar featuring a 7.6L naturally-aspirated V12 mill getting assistance from an electric motor.
The powertrain creates an enormous 1,115 horsepower (831 kilowatts) collectively and sends power to wheels through an eight-speed single-clutch transmission.
There are two variants; the bigger motor model weighs 1,400 kilograms while the lighter model weighs 1,310 kg and produces a lower output of 1,024 hp (831 kW).
The Delage D12 employs a Formula 1-inspired pushrod suspension and the chassis-making got assistance from the Ex-F1 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve.
Look inside and you find the driver seat in the middle with the passenger just behind him, as we see in fighter jets.
The automaker says it can jump from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in only 2.5 seconds. The company plans to make a lap record at Nurburgring, as well.
Interested in this exotic hypercar? You have to move fast as only 30 units are planned, each wearing a hefty price tag of around US$2.4 million.
