The US Congress has approved a law outlining a controlling structure for Hyperloop, a modern bullet speed train. With this ruling, the UAE Hyperloop dream has got impetus and is now just a step away from becoming a reality.

Those who do not know about Hyperloop, it is an innovative way of vacuum tube-based transport, similar to a train, which can sprint at a top speed of 1200 km/h. It means you can cover the distance between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in only 10 minutes.

Besides the RTA and Hyperloop One, the DP World, the Dubai-based smart end-to-end supply chain logistics firm is also working on the UAE Hyperloop. The company heavily invested in Virgin Hyperloop to make Hyperloop a reality in the UAE. Both the firms are very happy with the US Congress Decision. In this regard, the Non-Traditional and Emerging Transportation Technology (NETT) Council will share instructions in the next six months to assist firms in making a vivid monitoring framework.

Sultan Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Virgin Hyperloop, stated: “We are excited to see this revolutionary vision becoming part of the future of transportation, as much as we are confident that Virgin Hyperloop will take a leap forward and deliver on a 21st-century transportation solution.”

“The decision is a huge vote of confidence that we are all on the right side of history. The move, which brings hyperloop systems one major step closer to reality, validates our decision to take this technology seriously and support this innovation,” he emphasized.

DP World started the ‘DP World Cargospeed’ global brand two years ago as an allied business between DP World and Virgin Hyperloop.

“This month, Virgin Hyperloop signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE’s Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) to initiate a collaborative approach to research and innovation… Our aim is to be a catalyst for global adoption and expansion of this new mode of transportation that will be faster, safer, cheaper, and more sustainable than other existing modes”, Bin Sulayem stated.

Virgin Hyperloop is a US-based firm that that has collected over $400 million (Dh1.46 billion) in investments, most of them came from the DP World.

Jay Walder, Virgin Hyperloop CEO, stated: “DP World has been a key enabler of developing this technology for deployment, and the inclusion of hyperloop transportation in this legislation is a great moment in history for us and for DP World.”

The world’s most innovative brains have now agreed that Hyperloop is a future of mass transit.
