After teasing the vehicle multiple times, the Japanese automaker has finally revealed the 2021 Nissan Ariya Electric SUV. Staying true to its concept (IMX) inside and out, it hints at the company’s future design language.

The all-electric vehicle will be available in two- and all-wheel-drive configurations featuring single or dual electric motors. The 2WD single-motor Ariya churns out 215 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque while the AWD dual-motor creates the power of 389 horses and a healthy 600 Newton-meters of torque.

The AWD model with a single motor takes 7.5 seconds to hit 100 km/h mark before topping out at 159 km/h. The AWD dual-motor variants take just 5.1 seconds and can go all the way to 200 km/h.

Nissan says, it will be able to deliver 483 kilometers (300 miles) of range in America. There will be two battery packs a 90-kWh with a capacity of 87 kWh and a 65-kWh battery with a capacity of 63 kWh.

The 2021 Nissan Ariya Electric SUV will boast two 12.3-inch displays, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Alexa. It will be the first car from the automaker to offer over-the-air updates. Moreover, it will be semi-autonomous, owing to the availability of the ProPILOT Assist 2.0. The system allows you hands-off driving in specific circumstances.

Expect the Ariya in Japan in Summer next year. The US deliveries may start by the end of 2021. No words on the pricing yet but we are expecting it to be around $40,000. Also, no words about its debut in the UAE. Stay tuned to know more!
