The British luxury automaker Bentley started producing Bentayga SUV in 2016 and has just completed manufacturing 20,000 units.  The Middle East (ME) has been the key market for the luxury SUV with total sales of 2,315 units. In other words, just over one in ten of all Bentaygas developed were bought by ME customers.

Firas Kandalaft, Head of Marketing and Communications at Bentley Middle East, Africa and India, said: “Since its arrival in the Middle East in the second quarter of 2016, the multi-award-winning Bentayga has been a major hit with our customers and has established itself as Bentley’s best-selling model in the region. Furthermore, its regional importance has been emphasized by the creation of two exquisite limited editions: the Bentayga Falconry by Mulliner and Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of The Gulf.”

What made Bentley Bentayga so popular and outdo its competitors in sales is its hand-built nature, five derivatives, four different powertrains, and go-anywhere driving ability. The Bentayga can drive in any condition and on any terrain; from -30°C in the ice-covered North Cape to intense 50°C desert heat, and from the grime and grit of South Africa to the grubby areas of Cheshire.

The multiple recognitions also helped Bentayga to cement its position in the luxury SUV segment. Another great feature of the SUV is its Dynamic Ride, which is the world’s first electric active roll control technology employing an unmatched 48V system.

The Bentayga is not your everyday SUV, it creates lots of power using a twin-turbocharged 6.0L W12 offering (600 bhp / 447kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb. ft) of torque. The top speed is limited to 187 mph (301 km/h). The Bentayga Speed is the most powerful version that can hit 306 km/h.

The luxury SUV starts at AED 850,000 in the UAE. The special editions are obviously more expensive.
