Al-Futtaim Toyota has unveiled the 2020 Toyota C-HR with sophisticated and bold styling. Geared toward fashionable, classy, and demanding consumers, the innovative Hybrid-Electric Vehicle (HEV) is delivering the best-in-class fuel economy of 23.9 km/l, thus contributes to greener future and company’s commitment to environment-friendliness. The hybrid-electric powertrain includes a strong lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric motors.

Saud Abbasi, Managing Director at Al-Futtaim Toyota stated, “When it was first shown to the public as a concept car, the C-HR wowed onlookers with its avant-garde physique. Toyota designers translated the concept’s form to a production-ready vehicle while maintaining all the glamour of the show car. We are confident this car will wow our customers here in the UAE with its innovation, style, and technology.”

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform featuring low center of gravity and double-wishbone rear suspension, it boasts a 1.8-liter VVT-i full-hybrid powertrain that creates the power of 121 horses. The engine mates to E-CVT transmission. The 2020 Toyota C-HR can either propel completely using electric power or use both the engine and the two electric motors, depending on its speed. The former would produce zero-emissions. Toyota’s hybrid-electric batteries do not need any outside charging and get all the juice from the engine, as the car decelerates and applies the brakes.

The front fascia signifies the Toyota’s Under Priority and Keen Look design identity and encompasses Daytime Running Lights (DRL) positioned above the main beam projectors. The front fog lights are at the corner of the lower bumper. The rear gets LED lamps and a smooth, shiny spoiler. The standard wheel size is 17-inch alloy.

Inside, it has a 4.2-inch color LCD Multi-Information Display and a 7” Display Audio with an onboard multimedia system and complete smartphone integration via both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are plenty of storage spaces with comfortable seats, and a dual-mode air conditioning system for convenient journeys in the hot weather of the UAE. The customers can choose between two interior color tones: Black and Orchid Brown.

Toyota has strengthened the TNGA-based chassis to withstand extreme impacts and provides a host of active and passive safety technologies. These comprise Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) among others.

Toyota is offering the 2020 C-HR in an array of colors, all giving it a dashing visual appeal. The choice starts from Super White, White Pearl, Celestite Gray Metallic, Gray Metallic, Metal Stream Metallic, Black, Emotion Red, Orange Metallic, Oxide Bronze Metallic, Nebula Blue Metallic and goes to Bi-tones. The automaker is offering two versions in this regard where customers can mix Gloss Black and the famous Metal Stream with their chosen shades.

The 2020 Toyota C-HR is available in two variants. The GX starts from AED 86,900 while the VX costs AED 93,900.
