If you are thinking, how you can renew your driving license during the lockdown in the UAE, don’t fret. You can renew it from the comfort of your home without taking the eye test. RTA has exempted eye tests for all motorists for three months.
To renew your driving license, open the RTA website. Scroll down a bit and click on ‘Driver & car owner’ and expand the menu by clicking on ‘ View all services’.
Find the ‘Driver’s Licensing’ in the top menu and click on ‘Renewing a driving license’. On this page, you will find all the necessary documents you need as well as the information on service fees.
Click on ‘Apply Now’ and a new window will open up, which you can see below.
On this window, first, select the ‘Driver License Services’ tab, and then click on ‘License Renewal’. A pop-up window will appear (shown below).
This Traffic File Verification window asks you to enter details in three ways; By Plate Number, By Driving License Number, or By License Application. Click on ‘By Driving License’ and provide your license number, license issue date, traffic file number, your birth year, and then click on ‘confirm’ to approve the details.
Once the system verifies the details, you need to pay through your credit/debit card and that’s it. You are done!
