Abu Dhabi Police declared that the commercial vehicles in the Emirate do not need to pay their registration fee this year. The decision is made keeping in view the current COVID-19 conditions in the country. It will help ease the burden of commercial vehicle owners.

The tweet says, “In line with #AbuDhabi’s Economic Stimulus package, registering commercial vehicles is free of charge until the end of 2020. @ADPoliceHQ in cooperation with its strategic partners will apply the decision retroactively to completed registrations after March 16, 2020, and grant refunds.”

It means any vehicle, which has made registration on or after March 16 will get their money back.

While previously the Ministry of Interior (MoI) declared that the authorities will not charge any fines on the vehicle registration renewal neither they have to go for vehicle testing, this exemption comes as a big surprise and relief for the motorists.

“Customers may benefit from this measure without the need to pay traffic fines, perform vehicle inspection or risk confiscation or traffic points,” the ministry earlier tweeted.

You must also know, last month, the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi waved off toll gate charges until December 2020.
