The German automaker has introduced the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 with a meaner look and its famous M139 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The performance crossover rightly leads the line-up of compact Power-SUVs.

On the front, the compact crossover features vertical strakes in the grille, and standard LED headlights. The 19-inch wheels are standard with an option of 21-inch pairs. At the back, we can see a big roof spoiler and an updated bumper incorporating 3.2-inch exhaust pipes.

Take a peep inside and we find bigger bolsters to comfortably hold passengers in a sporty drive. Customers can also opt for AMG Performance chairs.

Talking about the power and performance, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 pumps out 382 horsepower and 480 Newton-meters of torque. The engine mates to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive system. This powertrain enables the compact crossover to hit 96 kilometers per hour in 4.3 seconds. The maximum speed it can attain is 249 kph.

Mercedes has made changes in the suspension geometry and added an aluminum wishbone. The adaptive dampers are there as usual to give a smooth ride in different driving modes.

For a performance crossover, braking power is extremely crucial; the vehicle has 13.8-inch rotors with four-piston calipers at the front and 13-inch discs with single-piston stoppers at the back. The optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package significantly increases braking capability by adding two more piston calipers in front and changing the 13-inch discs with 14.2-inch discs.

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 will be available in the US in the last quarter of 2020. The pricing details are unknown yet. For reference, the 2020 regular model starts from AED 175,000 here in the UAE. This AMG model will definitely be more expensive than the standard GLA.
