MINI has released new details about the 2014 MINI Cooper, ahead of its debut on November 18th.

First and foremost, the model will be offered with a new head-up display that projects information onto a small folding screen on the dashboard. It can show the vehicle’s speed, navigation instructions, entertainment information (ie: music track or radio channel) and various alerts.

On the safety front, there’s a collision and pedestrian warning system with a city braking function. It uses a windscreen-mounted camera to monitor pedestrians and vehicles in front of the car. When the system determines there could be a collision, it provides audio and visual warnings to alert the driver. If the driver fails to respond, the car will automatically begin braking to prevent or reduce the severity of a crash.

The model will also be offered with a digital headlight assist system that automatically activates and deactivates the high-beams depending on traffic and lighting conditions.

Other notable features include a video-based active cruise control system, a rear view camera and parallel parking assist. There’s also a traffic sign memory system with speed limit info and a no passing display.
