After multiple teasers, Fisker finally revealed the Ocean crossover in Los Angeles yesterday. The key details are with us now and they are not much different from what we have already known. As reported earlier, the electric utility vehicle will be able to cover 482 kilometers on a single charge thanks to an 80-kilowatt hour battery pack. The vehicle will go on sale by the end of 2021wearing a starting price tag of $37,499 (or $29,999 after tax credits).
While we don’t know about its total horsepower, torque and charging time, we do know it can sprint to 96 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The buyers will have the liberty to choose between FWD and AWD.
As we peek inside, we find a big touchscreen at the center of the dash, similar to the Model Y and the Mustang Mach-E. The vehicle also features a small display behind the steering wheel, a couple of wireless chargers, and a head-up display. The center screen also has five haptic buttons for quick adjustment of fan speed, temperature, audio, etc.
Reportedly, the Fisker Ocean EV will have some self-driving abilities. The company didn’t reveal much about them but we can identify a radar in the front grille. The California Mode, we discussed earlier, is also a part of the package.
Those interested in the Fisker Ocean crossover can book it for a $250 refundable deposit, but they have to wait until 2022 to get their hands on this utility vehicle. Fisker has taken a step ahead and plans to offer the electric crossover on a $379-per-month subscription plan prior to its sale.
