The luxury brand of Hyundai has introduced its first posh SUV offering, the 2021 Genesis GV80 in teaser images. It has a huge resemblance to its concept, which was displayed around three years back. Seeing the images and comparing them closely to the concept, we can see some differences, as well.

First off, the production GV80 has customary door handles and side mirrors, contrary to the concept. Secondly, we can see bigger LED strips and updated front grille on the production model.

2017 GV80 concept

Step inside and we again see a lot of resemblance with the 2017 GV80 concept. However, things are toned down a bit. We can see a big infotainment system in the center, slim air vents, lots of wood trim on the lower center console, digital instrument cluster and two-spoke steering wheel. The heavy gear selector has been swapped with a shorter rotary dial.

Genesis didn’t reveal any pictures of the backseats but did mention offering the 2021 Genesis GV80 in three rows of seating. The standard drivetrain will be rear-wheel with an option of AWD.

Teaser

Nothing else we know about the new SUV from Genesis, unfortunately. However, that’ll change very soon as the GV80 premiere will happen by the end of this month with sales starting soon afterward in the home market. The global launch may take place by the mid of this year.
