Some of you might have seen a leaked video showing the zero-turn radius feature of the Rivian EV in July. That video was taken off the internet, but now we have the official video from Rivian, showcasing its R1T pickup that makes a full 360 degrees turn. The automaker calls it Tank Turn for apparent reasons.

For the maneuver, the vehicle spins the right and left wheels in opposite directions thanks to the four-wheel-drive system created by the automaker, which uses four independently controlled electric motors. The Tank Turn will be handy on low-traction surfaces like mud, snow, and sand. Although this feature can work on a hard surface as well, Rivian do not advise it owing to extra burden the drive system has to bear.

Rivian has recently added $1.3 billion in its account thanks to the support of Amazon, Ford, and BlackRock. With this raised capital, the company now has enough finance to start the production of its electric R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck on time.
