Fans of GM high-performance V models weren’t happy after the launch of CT4-V and CT5-V in summer, mainly due to the drop in horsepower. And why they would be? When they compared it to the outgoing ATS-V and CTS-V, they did not see a slight but a big difference in power. Well, it turns out, the considerable variation of horsepower translated to a big difference in prices too, and that even things out. The basic version of the 2020 Cadillac CT4-V starts at $45,490 for the rear wheels and $46,590 for the all-wheel-drive model. These prices take in $995 destination charge.
Comparing the 2020 Cadillac CT4-V with the ATS-V, the price difference is about $14,510, which is enormous. However, if you would have driven the latest ATS-V and took a test drive of the new CT4-V as well, you would have felt a massive difference in the power. We are talking about the drop from 464 hp to 325 hp, and that figure is significant.
The price variation between the CTS-V and the new 2020 CT5-V is even more significant. The rear-wheel-drive model costs $48,690, while the all-wheel-drive versions start at $51,290. It is nearly 50% cheaper than the CTS-V, and this is where we should expect a huge power difference. The new CT5-V makes 360 hp compared to the 640-hp of the CTS-V.
Those who really love the ultra-high-performance V sedans from Cadillac shouldn’t be disappointed. Cadillac definitely has something in making that will closely match the ATS-V and the CTS-V. When? We are not sure! However, it should not take long, and the production-ready prototypes should debut any time next year.
We are not sure when these performance cars will reach the UAE; however, interested customers can buy the 2019 ATS-V and the 2019 CTS-V from Cadillac UAE.
