First revealed at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Infiniti now has released a teaser image of its new SUV model, the QX55. Based on the QX50 and having resemblance with the FX SUV, the Infiniti QX55 will feature sports car styling with SUV practicality. However, seeing the teaser image, we can say it does not look as sporty as the BMW X6. The roof is much flatter, thus would offer more headroom for the rear passengers.

After the introduction of the BMW X4 and the Mercedes GLC coupe, Infiniti needs something that would not look sportier but more practical as well. For this reason, we believe the automaker will add a sporty touch inside by introducing bucket-style seats and flat-bottom steering. Being a luxury SUV, expect a sense of extravagance throughout the cabin.

Talking about the powertrain, the automaker did not disclose it. The Infiniti QX55 may carry the same 2.0L turbocharged as available in the QX50. However, we expect it to get better on it. The drivetrain choices should include FWD-CVT and AWD.

The new Infiniti QX55 will launch next year. The pricing details will be disclosed closer to the launch.
